Yakima Bucket List – A List of Every Yakimite Should Do Once
Whether you've just moved to town or have been here your whole life, here's a list of things you should do while you can.
Go Ice Blocking
Go to the store, buy a $1 block of ice and use that as a sled to go down the straight-a-way of the Franklin terraces. Cheap fun.
Float the Yakima River
Grab an innertube and float down the canyon river. A tradition for most during the warm summer months.
Devour a Big Miner w/ Cheese
There are plenty of things on the menu at Miner's, but you you can never go wrong with a big miner with cheese. It's been a while for me, I'm not sure I could even finish one anymore.
Pick Fruit From Any Local Orchard
There are several 'u-pick' orchards in Yakima where you can pick your own apples, berries and more. A lot of fun and your kids will love it.
Attend a Beer/Wine Festival
The Yakima Valley has several beer festivals throughout the year from the ever-popular Fresh Hop Ale Festival to Case of the Blues to the growing America On Tap series. Fun to attend even if you don't drink.
