Yakima is full of history. Looking around downtown you'll see signs of where businesses used to be. You might even find old spots on the sidewalk where you could tie up your horse. We all know those people, and maybe are guilty of it ourselves, saying things like "Oh, if you could have only visited the Country Store," or "We had such a great time growing up at the Air Fair." The beautiful thing about the Yakima Valley Trolleys is that they're still up and running. Instead of talking about what it was like, you can actually ride one -- reversible seats and all.

My daughters recently went on a field trip to the old station where they have a working trolley that still runs on the old tracks. Sure, they're not as prevalent today as they once were, but you still get to ride around a bit of downtown on them and, yes, you can still flip the seat around when the trolley backtracks to its station.

It was very fun and my daughters had a blast riding it. Very cost efficient, too!

If you'd like to ride the trolleys, visit the Yakima Valley Trolleys website for more information.
