Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina became both the first Latin American pope and the first Jesuit pope when he was elected by the College of Cardinals Wednesday at the Vatican in Rome. He is the first non-European pope elected in a millennia.

The bishop of the Yakima Diocese, Joseph Tyson, was a guest Wednesday on Newstalk KIT, live from Chicago.
