As if it weren't radical enough that "Totally '80s" -- featuring Debbie Gibson, Tiffany and Downtown Julie Brown -- is coming to Yakima's Capitol Theatre Sept. 8, from now through next Thursday (Aug. 24), you can get upper balcony seating for just $27.50.
If you are like me, you love the sun. You would love for it to be 85 degrees or 90 all of the time! I am over cold weather. I grew up in it in Wyoming and if I never saw snow again, I would be just fine. However, I do love living in Washington and we do get all seasons in Tri-Cities and Yakima Valley so I will not complain too much! The weather has really stayed super-warm for the last couple of weeks. I love it.
From the parade down Iler Street to last call at the beer garden, the 2017 Moxee Hop Festival won't soon be forgotten.
For the second consecutive year, a pair of Sea Gals even graced the grounds of the Moxee City Park, where thousands beat the triple-digit heat with icy treats, cool music and the soothing shade of the town's towering trees...
Downtown Summer Nights on Yakima's historic North Front Street has been pretty amazing this summer. We have seen some excellent bands and hung out with friends and family. Every Thursday as been nearly perfect. This Thursday, we have an even bigger treat for you. Team Jubal from the "Brooke & Jubal' show will be on hand to give away tickets to the Aug. 11 Jubal Comedy Show at the Capitol Theatre.
Thursday's (July 27) Downtown Summer Nights music was as hot as the weather! Spokane's legendary Too Slim and the Taildraggers, along with West Pasco's Chase Craig, added extra heat with two smokin' sets that had every foot on North Front Street tappin'!
Children's Miracle Network is such an amazing cause. They help out the NIC unit at Virginia Mason Memorial, Children's Village and many other places in the Yakima Valley. And the really great thing about CMN is that the money stays local! All of us at Townsquare Media got to be part of the Children's Village Family/Radio Station Reveal party this week, and it was a blast!
Yakima Valley Pet Rescue is an excellent cause. They help find homes for thousands of animals. Dogs, cats and even birds. They had fundraising event, Paws Up for a Purpose, on Saturday in the parking lot of Hop Nation. It was fun and they raised some dough for the animals.
I am not one to keep a whole lot. In fact, I most recently went through a storage unit that I have had for 10 years and trashed a lot of stuff. I came to a box that had all of my old Tiger Beat and Teen Beat posters in them. I admit that most of these kept me going while I was younger since I lived 16 miles out on a desolate Wyoming road.
