Violinist Adds Class to Justin Bieber’s ‘Boyfriend’

While Justin Bieber’s hit single ‘Boyfriend’ is pretty much the perfect pop song already, it could use some orchestral flair. So, South Carolina musician Seth Gilliard gives the song a much-needed touch of class by covering it on violin.

This isn’t Gilliard’s first tribute song, by the way. His YouTube channel features violin covers of Alicia Keys, Usher and Flo Rida songs just to name a few.

Unfortunately, there are no words in Gilliard’s version, so we miss the opportunity to hear Bieber’s laughable lyrics like “Chillin’ by the fire while we eatin’ fondue” and “I could be your Buzz Lightyear / Fly across the globe.” But despite this, Gilliard’s version might even be better than the original. It’s certainly not as silly.

What do you think? Do you like this take on the song? Or does it make you a little queasy?
