Yakima police are investigating yet another fatal shooting -- a Tuesday night attack claimed the life of 43-year-old Richard Plumlee, who was shot at the Yakima Inn on North First Street.

According to news release from the city, Yakima police received a report of a gunshot victim at the inn, 1022 N. First St., at about 10:20 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Plumlee, who had been shot in the torso. Officers treated Plumlee at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m.

Plumlee's death is the third fatality after four shootings in Yakima in less than a week. After 20-year-old Luis E. Acosta was found shot to death near and Fifth Avenue D Street early Friday morning, Raymond Barnes, 25, and April Wiltse-Emery, 27, were wounded early Saturday in a shooting at the Mesa Apartments on Gordon Road. Within hours, the body of 27-year-old Manuel Pantaleon turned up in the 400 block of South Ninth Street. Pantaleon, who had been at a party a block away, was shot in the head.
