**President Trump accused China Wednesday of targeting American farmers in a “vicious” way, using them as leverage to get concessions on trade a day after he announced a $12 billion farm aid package.

According to agriculture.com, China and other U.S. trade partners zeroed in on American farmers with retaliatory tariffs after the administration-imposed duties on Chinese goods AND steel and aluminum.

The President Tweeted, “China is targeting our farmers, who they know I love & respect, as a way of getting me to continue allowing them to take advantage of the U.S.”

**Europe’s cows could soon be chomping on more corn as drought there drives up wheat prices.

Hot and dry weather in recent months has hit European wheat fields hard, pushing U.K. feed-wheat futures’ premium over French corn to a four-year high.

Because both grains are used to feed animals, that’s boosting the appeal of corn imports, widely expected to be near a record this season.

**USDA officials are criticizing World Health Organization guidelines which limit the use of antibiotics in food animals.

Agweb.com report, the guidelines called for an end to the use of medically important antibiotics routinely used for growth promotion or to prevent disease.

The WHO says the drugs should only be administered to sick animals or healthy ones raised near them, but even then, drugs “critically important for human medicine” should not be used.

USDA is reportedly developing alternative options to the WHO guidelines.
