**The U.S. and China have restarted trade talks, but China has still not purchased the large amounts of U.S. ag products President Trump said they promised at the G20 Summit last month.

Last week, according to agweb.com, the President tweeted, “Mexico is doing great at the Border, but China is letting us down in that they have not been buying the ag products from our great Farmers that they said they would. Hopefully they will start soon!”

**The Minneapolis Star Tribune recently published a lengthy op-ed piece debunking the persistent myth among environmentalists that cows, and their flatulence, are to blame for climate change.

Writer, Paul John Scott laid out the argument that first created the myth, largely fueled by a 2006 United Nations’ estimate that cattle were responsible for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

He tells milkbusiness.com, EPA numbers show, in the U.S., ag accounts for just 9% of GHG emissions, and ALL livestock, just 3.9%.

**Weather conditions and poor performing crops are dragging down overall U.S. vegetable shipments this year.

That’s according to a recent USDA report that shows OVEDRALL vegetable shipments fell by 4.3%, but the year over year comparisons vary widely.

Growingproduce.com reports, spring rains impact shipments with the Midwest, at 24%, and Central California, 13%, having the biggest dips in vegetable shipments compared to last year.

Pacific Northwest shipments increased 4.6%.
