Family of Four Living in 150 Square Foot Hong Kong Apartment [VIDEO]

Yang Lianchun’s Hong Kong apartment, for which she pays about $500 a month, is a mere 150 square feet — barely enough space for one person and she shares it with her husband and two kids.

In Hong Kong, the average price of homes has shot up 76 percent since 2008. Working class wages have yet to catch up with the Chinese city’s overheated real estate market — a discrepancy which has forced some Hong Kong residents to live in “coffin” apartments as small as 30 square feet.

In the video below, Lianchun’s talks about the difficulty of raising a family in such a tiny space, and her fear that her landlord will soon up the rent again.
