Wind is probably my least favorite weather element. It makes everything cold, it's unpredictable and it generally causes more problems than not. Fortunately, in a valley, we don't have to worry about the wind as much but it does blow through from time to time. It's been pretty breezy in Yakima these past few days and I've about had enough of it. Instead of being annoyed, here are a few things you can do take advantage of a windy day in Yakima.

Fly a Kite
This has to be one of the original things to do when you're bored. In fact, kites won't work unless you have some wind so if there's wind, may as well take advantage of it.

Take Some Action Photos
With natural wind, you can get great action shots like if you wanted a photo with your hair blowing in the breeze or if you were doing some cosplay photos and needed your cape flapping behind you as if you were flying.

Fly a Flag
When you hang the American flag outside and there's no breeze of any kind, it doesn't look like much. Nobody draws a picture of the flag hanging loosely over a pole, that star spangled banner needs to wave.

Water Your Yard
Thanks to the wind, it'll help carry the water from your sprinkler even farther. You won't have to move your sprinkler as much.

Natural AC
It's a little harder to do if you're on a dirt road or something, but opening the windows will blow out the stagnant air in your place. Especially if you have windows on both sides for that natural draft. Especially important if you have children to do this to their room.
