4 Spooktacular Halloween Events in Yakima You Can’t Miss
Summer seemingly flew by and it is already October 11, meaning Halloween is only in 20 days! Yikes. Here are 4 events to make your Halloween worthwhile!
Madd Hatter’s Haunted House
At 208 Ahtanum Rd in Union Gap, Madd Hatter’s Haunted House has been operating for 20 years!
Serving as a non-profit, this year’s theme is “Davy’s Locker”. Participants are sailing on a haunted pirate ship and end up exploring a sinister castle. Admission is $15 for one and $28 for two, although VIP fast access goes for $20 for one and $38 for two.
Union Gap Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch
After dark at 7:00 PM Halloween night at 3213 S Tacoma St in Union Gap, the Union Gap corn maze will become “haunted”. Zombies, skeletons, and chainsaw murderers will lurk in the corn ready to jump-scare you as you try and find your way out of the 12-acre maze. Admission is $15 for ages 3 and up and free for under 2, although I do not recommend toddlers attending!
Yakima Ave. Trick-Or-Treat
Arguably the most iconic Yakima event, Yakima police traditionally implemented traffic restrictions or road closures on Yakima Ave from 18th Ave to 32nd Ave to protect thousands of trick-or-treaters, although this year there will be no such restrictions. In fact, the whole Barge-Chestnut district is usually filled with trick-or-treaters, making it a go-to tradition for Halloween fans!
