A level-three sex offender has moved to a new address in Yakima one of the 61 level three offenders that call Yakima home. 41-year-old Brendan Moore is now living in the 1600th block of Fruitvale Blvd. in Yakima. Police say he was convicted of child molestation in 2002.

LOCAL AUTHORITIES MONITOR BOTH SEX AND KIDNAPPING OFFENDERS IN YAKIMA COUNTY

Authorities tell us to tell you about level three offenders because they're the most likely to re-offend. Along with the 61 level three sex offenders who live in Yakima County local authorities also monitor those who have been convicted and spent time in prison for kidnapping. In fact the Yakima County Sheriff's Office says 12 of the offenders are living in Yakima County.

THE OFFENDERS LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY

The most recent person to be released after serving time for kidnapping is 37 year old Horsely Sohappy who is now living in the 200th block of S 40TH AVE. He was convicted in 2006 for unlawful imprisonment. He was then arrested for failing to register with the Yakima County Sheriff's office in 2009 and twice in 2011 also for failing to register. Authorities say Washington State Law permits notifications about Kidnap offenders that include relevant, accurate and necessary information.

A LARGE NUMBER OF OFFENDERS MAKE THEIR HOME IN YAKIMA

All total local authorities monitor 922 level 1, 2, and 3 offenders as well as kidnapping offenders. State officials say there are currently 6, 986 offenders who live in Washington State. While that's a lot of offenders it's not even close to the number in the state of Texas. That state has the most in the United States with more than 100,000 registered sex offenders. California is number two with 62,000.
