
Yakima’s Dozer Day Returns March 21-22 with Heavy Machinery
Dozer Day, where kids have fun driving big construction equipment is coming up next weekend in Yakima. The event is planned for Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22 at State Fair Park. Dozer Day is sponsored by Central Washington Homebuilders Association.
IMAGINE THIS EVENT WHEN YOU WERE A KID? WOW!!
Your kids will have a chance to drive all kinds of heavy machinery including bulldozers and other big equipment. The kids get the chance to check out a number of emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks. They'll also learn about careers in construction and the importance of teamwork.
A SPECIAL QUIET TIME FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
According to a news release the event is set for Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the East Lot at Yakima's State Fair Park, 1301 South Fair Avenue.
Lots of fun is planned including a scavenger hunt and a special quiet hour from 10:00 am to 11:00 am for kids with special needs. Tickets are $14 for those 3-years-old and older. Tickets are available HERE.

SO MUCH FUN WAITING FOR YOUR KIDS
Kids have lot to choose from like bulldozers, excavators plus they'll meet first responders and run on obstacle courses. They can also a chance to participate in a scavenger hunt.
LOTS OF NEW STUFF THIS YEAR
Official Dozer Day sweatshirts will be available. The Central Washington Homebuilders Association will be raffling off a student-built playhouse from Perry Technical Institute to support scholarships for local students.

The day won't happen without the many volunteers that make it happen. You can become a sponsor or volunteer or both.

Operate Equipment (experienced, professional operators only)
Flagging for Slow-Moving Traffic
A press release spells out information for volunteers;
Enter through Gate 11, off 18th Street at the YV Tech building and follow signs to find the parking area.
Check-In: Volunteers must check in at the staffed gate operated by State Fair Park personnel.
Refreshments: Light snacks and water provided for volunteers.
When you arrive, you will be given a lanyard that volunteers must wear. Check out the info for volunteers.
