Yakima Cyclists Rejoice: New Bike Fix Stations on Greenway Pathway
If you love to ride your bike you've probably peddled down the Yakima Greenway a time or two. If you do that again in the future and your bike breaks down or has a flat tire you'll find help on the pathway.
BICYCLE REPAIR STATIONS OPEN
That's because Southwest Rotary of Yakima has created four bicycle repair stations on the Greenway. A press release says as you peddle on the pathway you'll find the repair stations at Sarge Hubbard Park, Suntides Greenway parking area, the parking lot off Orchard Rite Road and the small park near the entrance to Naches. A fifth station will be added after construction is completed at the 16th Avenue Greenway entrance.

TOOLS AND PARTS FOR RIDERS
Rotary officials say the repair stations are designed to improve safety and convenience for cyclists of all ages. The stations are equipped with a bike hanger, a manual air pump that works with both Schrader and Presta valves, and a set of tools like tire levers, wrenches, Torx cassette wrenches, pedal and headset wrenches, and screwdrivers. The stations are even stocked with replacement parts.
GIVING BACK TO YAKIMA
Southwest Rotary President Matt Reed says "Southwest Rotary of Yakima wanted to give back in a way that would make their lives a little easier and safer.” Southwest Rotary had lots of help putting the stations together including the Yakima Greenway Foundation, the city of Naches, Granite Construction, Poppoff Inc., Wheeler Rock, local community members, and Rotary club members.
