Yakima Police arrested a mother near her Yakima home on Tuesday after police say she allegedly threatened to cut off the heads of her children.

THE STUDENT REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO HER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

According to a probable cause affidavit from the Yakima County Prosecutors Office, police were called to a local elementary school on Tuesday afternoon after an 11-year-old student contacted the principal saying she was scared to go home after her mother allegedly threatened to cut off her head while holding a large knife or sword with a "red handle."

 

THE INCIDENT REPORTEDLY HAPPENED ON MOTHERS DAY

The student told police the incident happened during an argument on Sunday and that the threat made her feel scared to go home fearing she could be hurt or killed. She also told police she was worried about her other 3 other siblings in the home who also felt scared during the incident because her mother also allegedly threatened them as well.

THE STUDENT TOLD POLICE SHE WISHED SHE HAD BEEN KILLED

The 11-year-old student admitted to officers that she was so unhappy with her life that she wished her mother would have killed her, saying it was the reason why she was feeling she needed to harm herself.

THE MOTHER WAS ARRESTED NEAR HER HOME ON TUESDAY

Police were able to find and arrest the mother near her home on 15th Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. They say she resisted arrest before being taken into custody on 4 counts of felony harassment. The kids have all be placed in protective custody as the investigation continues today.
