
Toothbrushes, Towels, Tampons: What White Swan Fire Victims Need Today
The White Swan Fire evacuation levels have been downgraded, but the local community is in dire need of our help. Hundreds of people have lost important toiletries, food, and clothing.
Firefighters from all over the region have been assisting the Yakima County Fire District, including the Kittitas County Strike Team. they have been focusing on structure protection, spot fires, and extensive mop-up operations according to app alerts received from WatchDuty.org.

One Neighbor Says 'My Hometown Is Not Okay'
A member of the Tillequots Family in White Swan said in a Facebook post that although her house was spared, some of her neighbors' homes were not.
"My hometown was spared," they began, "but my hometown is not. If you can spare, people are in need of essentials."

Essentials Are Needed Now - Can You Spare Some?
In addition to blankets and food, other essentials needed by residents include:
- Washcloths and Towels
- Tampons and Sanitary Pads
- Soaps, hand soaps, and body washes
- Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
- Shampoo and Conditioner

There are several evacuation centers where you can drop off donations:

- Wapato First Baptist Church: 151 W Wapato Rd
- Toppenish Longhouse: Robbins Rd
- Wapato Longhouse: 1153 Donald Wapato Rd
