Yakima Taco Fest Event to Be Put on ‘Pause’ for 2026
The Central Washington Chamber of Commerce has announced they are putting their annual beloved event, Taco Fest, on pause. The news was announced in email on Sunday, March 15th.
If You've Never Been to Yakima Taco Fest, Here's What You Missed
This 21+ up event started out in downtown Yakima on Front Street and word quickly spread about how much fun (and delicious) it was, so the event grew with large attendance each year. Attendance was so large, the event location moved to Sarg Hubbard Park near Terrace Heights and then expanded to State Fair Park in Southeast Yakima.
Last year, the event was held at the recently opened Rotary Marketplace on Yakima Ave. They also made it a family-friendly event, allowing for more locals to attend.

Why Is Yakima Taco Fest on Pause?
In the email blurb under the section, "Update on Yakima Taco Fest", the Hispanic Chamber expressed extreme gratitude to community businesses and supporters of this past Taco Fests.
The Hispanic Chamber says the event is being put on hold "due to current capacity and funding considerations", and they hope to "focus on strengthening our Chamber and planning an even greater experience in the future."
Fans of Taco Fest can support the Chamber by attending their Estrella Awards in the Fall as well as the monthly Meet and Greets for local Yakima Valley business owners, professionals, and community leaders.
I've always had a blast attending this welcoming cultural foodie event. If you've never had the chance to attend the event, your admission fee got you some tokens to try street tacos from different food truck vendors and access to live music and street vendors. VIP ticket holders got coveted swag, including items like authentic Mexican-style blankets, t-shirts, a signature glass, Taco Fest merch, and access to the VIP Tent for signature drinks and limited seating.
