The new Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer features plenty of action, alien worlds, Sith Inquisitors, and the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. But it didn’t include a single shot of Darth Vader, even though Lucasfilm has already announced that the show will feature Hayden Christensen’s return as Star Wars’ most famous villain for the first time in well over a decade. And it’s not like we don’t know what the dude looks like. He looks like Darth Vader!

While we’re still waiting for our first footage from the show of the returning Vader, Entertainment Weekly got the first photo of the character of the show, debuting an image of the shadowy Vader walking through one of his dimly lit and ominous Imperial fortresses.

When asked just how much of Vader would appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi — he could have a glorified cameo, after all, with other new characters serving as the series’ main villains — the show’s writer, Joby Harold told ÊW “His shadow is cast across so much of what we do ... and the degree of his proximity to that shadow is something that we'll discover. But he is very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well.” In response to a question about whether Vader might appear unmasked on the show, Christensen said “I wish I could tell you. I'm sworn to secrecy.”

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25. The limited series will run for six episodes.
