The 2016 Polar Plunge is happening in Yakima on Feb. 20 and organizers are looking for people to jump. Are you brave enough?

This takes place annually at Sarg Hubbard Park. Teams of people get together and raise funds for Yakima Special Olympics. It's a lot of fun and for a great cause. Best of all, all money donated locally stays locally.

I like how people really get behind it and dress up in costume or they have teams of people all cosplaying for fun. Last year there was a team of business professionals (lawyers or attorneys, something like that) who kept their suits and ties at home and, instead, plunged in tu-tus.

If you'd like to get a team together and raise funds for this annual tradition, you may do so through the Special Olympics of Washington website. If you'd like to donate without jumping, there's an option for that, too.
