Halloween is fast approaching and I'm all for it. I'm a big fan of a holiday where you can be someone you're not and it's totally acceptable to eat stuff like peanut butter cups and caramel apples for the evening. I'm also a huge fan of haunted houses and scary attractions. I heard this year's Scaregrounds was going to feature an Evil Dead theme that involves being outside with cabins and stuff. Here's a few more ideas I'd love to see turn into a haunted attraction.

Haunted Baseball Field
Kind of like 'Field of Dreams', but scary. Walk through a baseball field while hoards of zombies drag towards you all holding baseball bats. Maybe they all turn to dust after you hit a homerun or something.

Haunted Amusement Park
The best part about this is that the Scaregrounds is already on the fairgrounds in Kennewick. If you can get some rides propped up that are extra creepy like a merry-go-round and classic rides like that in operation, that'd rule.

Haunted School
This one is a personal favorite idea of mine -- especially the cafeteria. You could have the lunch lady serving up something scary, making you eat whatever glop you get. I'm sure there's a joke in there about how you wouldn't even have to get lunch ladies in costume or change the food, but I'll leave it alone.

Haunted Mall
This would've been great for the Yakima Mall before it turned into a hotel. Keep the signs up and even some fake inventory in the stores. I feel a little scare factor every time I have to walk by the perfume counter at stores like Mervyn's in the old mall, this could be re-created.

Haunted Courthouse
This one would be easy as the courthouse is already haunted. All you have to do is just show up, basically.

What are some other great places around town that could be used as a haunted attraction? Tell us in the comments. Who knows, maybe they'll add it on next year.
