Amid the worst news that Michael Buble could have conceived of — that his three-year-old son, Noah, has been diagnosed with cancer — the "Nobody But Me" singer has found kindness and support in a relative stranger: Shannen Doherty.

Doherty, who first publicly acknowledged she, herself, was fighting breast cancer in August 2015, told Entertainment Tonight in an interview that aired last night (November 6) that news of Buble's child broke her heart. Still, she urged Buble and his wife Luisana Lopilato to keep hope and press forward.

"I can't even begin to touch that one, to be honest, because it's a three-year-old," she said. "I would imagine your child having cancer is devastating as a parent."

Doherty added that she could only urge the couple to "stay positive," noting: "That positivity, that outlook on life that you can get through something, it actually does get you through."

"Just trust in your doctors," she added. "Make sure you have amazing doctors, a great team, and know that organizations like the American Cancer Society [and] Stand Up to Cancer, they are doing so much good for cancer. And [there is] so much research that we have much better chances now."

Buble confirmed in a November 4 Facebook post that he planned to put his career on hold as he and Lopilato devoted themselves completely to supporting their son during his cancer battle.

"We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing," he wrote.
