Six Reasons to Be Thankful for the Rain in Yakima

"Rain, rain, go away." I don't believe in that so much. Here's a few reasons why you should love the rain in Yakima.

It Keeps You Indoors
Can't mow the lawn on a rainy day. Can't rake the leaves. If you hang your laundry out to dry, you can't do that, either. So may of your chores will have to wait another day.

The Smell of Rain
There actually is a word for it! Petrichor. It's the earthy smell of rain hitting soil. Depending on where you live it might just smell like oily dust which isn't great, but it does clean things up a bit.

You Finally Get to Dress Up in that Rain Outfit
If you do happen to go out, it gives you a reason to look rainy-day stylish with your pants and jacket and all that. Or it may just give you a reason to wear your favorite sweater or hoodie all day.

Productive Work Day
Since you can't just go outside and hang our anything, when it's raining you seem to get your work done more efficiently.

Great for Agriculture
Since we live in a huge ag place, the rain is much needed to water crops and more.
