Imagine this...it's summer, it's hot, like now and you have a perfectly good swimming pool at home which you love.

An Electric Analogy

But I'm your boss and I tell you that you need to come swim in my pool and, because I AM the boss, you are obliged to grab your towel and head on over.  When you get there you see the pool is smaller than yours and isn't even finished yet, no diving board, no slide, and what little water there is at the bottom is "green" and murky.  Clearly, it's not ready for use. What gives?  But I'm the BOSS and I say, "Jump In"!

That's where we are right now with the electric car.  It's not ready, the infrastructure is not ready and studies are showing they won't do what they are meant to do in replacing your favorite pool...er, fossil fuel car.

Every weekday on the Morning News, Ace Newsman Lance Tormey tells us all where to find the cheapest gas in Washington State.

We appreciate that.

Gas Buddy Can Only Help So Much

More often than not, Lance & Gasbuddy.com say the Wolf Den in Wapato is the place to go...and we do!  Either to fill up because we are nearly out or whenever we are passing by, to top off the tank.  It only makes cents and sense to do so.  But while it IS cheaper at the Wolf Den, the price there and everywhere is still ridiculously high.   The President says he cares about the financial burden this puts on the average family but he does not, as the high prices are working to achieve the left's drive to force our transition to electric cars as an alleged way TO SAVE THE PLANET! (but will it?)

As Americans were struggling to put gas in the tank, President Biden appeared to praise high gas prices as a necessary part of our historic shift away from fossil fuels. “Here’s the situation,”  Biden said at a Tokyo news conference on May 23, “when it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels'

All you gotta do is jump in that pool..."Cannonball!!!"

Washington State's Green Machine Future

Closer to home, Washington Governor Jay Inslee is already in his ideological Seepdo. (sorry for the imagery)  He wants us all to buy expensive electric cars and drive away from fossil fuels too. In fact, he has already started the clock ticking.  Up for a jackknife dive into that half-finished pool Governor?

Washington state plans to ban most non-electric vehicles by 2030, according to a newly signed bill by Gov. Jay Inslee. The bill says that all vehicles of the model year 2030 or later that are sold, purchased, or registered in the state must be electric.  There is no way to talk about climate change without talking about transportation," Inslee said. "This package will move us away from the transportation system our grandparents imagined and towards the transportation system our grandchildren dream of."

Ah, dreams.  MLK had dreams. Those are worth pursuing.  Governor Inslee's dreams? Well, here's a headline that might wake him up.

Not Yet Settled Science On EVs

Two recent studies have shown that electric vehicles have more quality issues than gas-powered ones and are not better for the environment.

According to J.D. Power, owners of electric or hybrid vehicles cite more problems than do owners of gas-powered vehicles. The latter vehicles average 175 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), hybrids average 239 PP100, and battery-powered cars — excluding Tesla models — average 240 PP100. Tesla models average 226 PP100. Given the average cost of an electric car is roughly $60,000, about $20,000 more than the cost of a gas-powered car, it seems owners of EVs didn’t get the value they deserve.

What About The Inconvenient Truths

Considering the rush to electric vehicles (EV) (by way of record high crushing gas prices) its good to remember that studies show the greater environmental impact of mining and collecting the resources to manufacture EVs, the cost of charging the expensive and pollution prone batteries is generated 80% by fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas.

Even one of the most recent studies shows that the much heavier EV autos grind down their tires substantially more than lighter fossil fuel powered cars and that actually releases more pollution into the air than the engines of gas powered cars.

The bottom line is that the bottom of the "pool" is a broken, political, swamp and the promised "green" may just be the leftist slime we are all being forced to dive into before the lifeguards have even arrived.  There is a right time and a right way to "transition" our transportation. This is not the time and artificially high gas prices is not the way. C'mon man.
