The Super Slide is a traditional feature at most carnivals, fairs and more. It's basically a giant slide a couple of stories tall that has you sliding down on a blanket of sorts. No matter how I build up momentum, I can never make it all the way to the very end. Over this past weekend, I found out why.

The answer was pretty simple. They intentionally don't polish the last few feet of the run.

This is one of my son's favorite attractions. He does whatever he can to build up enough momentum to keep him going, but always stops early. That's when I asked about it and the employee on hand told me they don't polish the last bit of the slide to help them stop early so they don't keep sliding and end up falling on the ground.

And now you know!
