Tyra Banks and her boyfriend, Erik Asla, are officially new parents, as the couple welcomed their baby boy, York Banks Asla, home today (January 27).

The star of iconic film Life-Size made the announcement via Instagram, posting a photo of a small striped hat along with a caption thanking the surrogate who carried their child.

She wrote, "The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”

Tyra opened up in the past about her struggle to conceive, admitting she underwent In Vitro Fertilization procedures in the past.

“When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids,” she told PEOPLE. But because of her career, she couldn't find the right time to conceive: "Since I was 24, I used to say every year, 'I will have kids in three years.' I kept saying it over and over again. Because my business is very entrepreneurial. I'm not for hire, so I have to do everything. I kept trying to find that time for that to happen."

“When you’re like, ‘Okay, I’m just going to do it,’ then it’s not so easy as you get older...I've had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments," she continued. "It's difficult as you get older. It's not something that can just happen."
