Authorities are investigating a multi vehicle crash at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Fruitvale Blvd. that sent two people to a local hospital with injuries. Yakima County Sheriff's deputies say the crash happened during the pursuit of a man driving a stolen truck. According to Sheriff's spokesman Casey Schilperoort the chase started in the area of Summitview and Rocky Top Road in the Highland area at about 6:35 a.m. Wednesday after the suspect was seen driving the stolen truck. The chase continued into Yakima but because of the concern for safety deputies ended the chase. The suspect continued to flee eventually failing to stop at a red light and crashed into two vehicles in the intersection of 40th Avenue and Fruitvale Blvd. Two people were taken to a local hospital. The suspect was arrested at the scene. The investigation continues Today.
