Virtual Chinook Fest 2020 Livestream Concert Tonight Only
One of the most difficult pills to swallow during the coronavirus pandemic was the cancellation of the annual Chinook Fest at Jim Sprick Park in Naches. Quite frankly, it is the highlight of the calendar year for me and many others. An entire weekend of tremendous live music, camaraderie, libations and NO FREAKING CELL PHONES! Alas...
In lieu of not being able to gather once again, Chinook Fest founder Cody Beebe and his right-hand woman Michelle (Bounds) VandenBrink hve done yeoman's work on putting together what is, hopefully, the next best thing. A livestream concert event featuring many festival favorite acts and it is happening tonight! (Sept. 10)
It is absolutely free to gain access to the show to stream on your TV or mobile device but there are a few other upgrades and a chance to win prizes with a donation to help keep our mountain music fest afloat for another year.
The livestream show will feature a short video featuring Chinook Fest Head Groundskeeper Larry Markwart trying to save the event (with a voice cameo appearance by yours truly).
The concert will air once and only once at 7:00 tonight so do not miss it! Big shout out to the awesome folks at Bearded Monkey Cycling & Music for their sponsorship of the show and, moreover, their unflagging support of live, local music in the Yakima Valley and Central Washington.
For those of us that consider our fellow Chinook Fest attendees part of our extended family once a year, we'll be missing you but with you in spirit tonight!
"See" you there! :)
