Vote Your Ballot Yet Yakima? It’s Almost Election Day

Less than two weeks from the November general election and ballots are trickling into the Yakima County Auditor's Office.
Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says 11,552 ballots have been returned to the Yakima County Auditor's Office or 9.11 percent.
Ross expects to see a 50 to 55 percent turnout for the election.
Ross says if you've moved recently don't forget to update your address with the auditor's office.

It's a crazy busy ballot depending upon where you live

The ballot will feature federal, state and local offices up for election. It will also include local and statewide judge races. In Yakima all three Yakima County Commissioner races will be on the ballot, races in the 13th, 14th and 15th legislative districts and a slew of statewide advisory votes that didn't appear on the primary election ballot.
If you are not registered to vote you can register today at the Secretary of State's website or in the Yakima County Auditors Office inside the Yakima County Courthouse. Remember if you sign up in person you'll have to go through security at the entrance the courthouse.
Your ballot is due on November 8. Remember you don't need a stamp to drop it in the mail or you can drop it in a drop box location.

Ross says the republican party has informed the Auditor's Office that party members will be observing counting on election night. He also says political parties who want to monitor voter drop boxes in Yakima County have the right to do that as long as the monitoring doesn't intimidate voters. However Ross says he hasn't had any information that any monitoring is happening at any drop boxes located in Yakima County.
