The first day of fall officially arrived Monday, and it looks like the first spurt of snow is on the way this weekend.

A couple of our nearby Washington state passes (White and Stevens) could get a light dusting by Friday night. Snow levels will be dropping, according to the National Weather Service and there's a possibility of snowfall in the Northwest mountains and passes.

Our nighttime temps in the Cascades will drop into the 20s and 30s and daytime temps will hover in the 50s and 60s.

It seems a little early to have prepare for winter travel, but anything is possible. I remember it snowing in June one year when I traveled through Montana.
