If you've ever considered being a state trooper for Washington state, here is your chance.

The Washington State Patrol is looking for good people who are motivated and qualified to be trooper cadets.

Testing goes through four phases, as you can see in the video.

• Phase 1 - Physical fitness test and written examinations
• Phase 2 - Oral board interview in front of a panel of experienced troopers.
• Phase 3 - Polygraph examination and a thorough background investigation.
• Phase 4 - Psychological examination, interview with our department psychologist, and a medical examination.

If you pass all four phases, you'll be offered a job! You'll be a trooper cadet and have a paid field position.

Field cadets gain valuable experience, while preparing to attend the 26-week Trooper Basic Training Class at the WSP Academy in Shelton.

You can apply online. The WSP career's website will also give more information on pay rate, benefits and more. Good luck!
