Nintendo unveiled their Nintendo Switch in a complete overview of what it is, how much it'll cost, online capabilities and so much more. No doubt it'll be a hot item this year when it launches on March 3, but here are a few things you should know before you buy one.

  • Price

It's going to be $299.99 which is fare for most video game systems. It comes with the system, detachable controllers, power cord and HDMI cord. It doesn't come packaged with a game so if you buy a system, know that you'll have to pay extra to grab a game with it.

  • Games

The games are slated to be about the same price as current games. Anywhere between $40-$60 with more if you buy special editions that may come with books or statues. There are plenty to choose from when the system launches and most are family friendly. The one everyone is gushing over is Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but they're also making Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the multiplayer game 1-2 Switch and several others.

  • How It Plays

The Nintendo Switch is unique enough that you can play it via your TV or HDMI monitor, you can take it out of the pod and play it like a mobile device or even prop the screen up (for instance, on the kitchen table) and play on that monitor with the detachable controllers. This also allows for more accidents to play it safe.
