Wiz Khalifa’s Next Album to Feature All Singing, No Rapping
Over the course of his career, Wiz Khalifa has been known to mix melodious vibes with his high-minded raps. Now, it appears the Pittsburgh rapper will fully show off his singing chops with a new singing album.
Wiz sat down with The Cruz Show on Power 106 in Los Angeles on Thursday (Oct. 18). During the chat, he revealed his plans to switch things up on his upcoming LP.
"My next album is all singing. Like full on...," he noted, appearing to be fully serious about his announcement. When questioned about the authenticity of his revelation by the hosts, Wiz said the project is already in motion with several records already in the stash. "I already got like 20 songs done," he added.
When pressed to sing on the radio, Wiz declined saying he wasn't prepared. "You have to warm up before you do R&B," he said.
The "Blue Hunnids" rapper seemed to be very serious and even revealed he'd hired a vocal coach to assist him with the project. "Absolutely, 100 percent, I have a vocal coach. She taught me some things I didn't even know about my voice," he said.
Khalifa released his most recent album Rolling Papers 2 in July. The album features Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Curren$y, Swae Lee, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Jimmy Wopo, Chevy Woods, Ty Dolla $ign and more.
In other music-related news, the rapper's 2011 mixtape Cabin Fever was recently re-released on all streaming services.
