One of my favorite new artists, Xolie Morra, from the Seattle band The Strange Kind, is not only a very talented musician but also has a form of autism which is a subject that hits very close to home for me. She's doing a fundraiser to show what it's like to live a day in the life of working in the music industry while being 'on the spectrum' and needs your support.

I first her about Xolie Morra via word of mouth. Since I have two children with autism, anytime there's anything with autism in the headline, it's usually forwarded my way. It's often just news or science articles and other factoids. I just say 'thanks' without reading carry on but when I heard she was a musician and was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel, I thought I'd check it out. What got me was, she actually walked into the building with her therapy dog. Then, they performed and I thought they did very well. It's totally the kind of music I listen to when I'm just hanging out or going on road trips - things of that nature.

I found out she has a fundraising effort in hopes to make a documentary on what it's like to have autism while working in the music industry so I thought I'd pass it along if anyone wanted to drop off a couple of bucks.
