Marvin Koop of Yakima recently bucked the 18.5 million-to-1 odds and scored a cool million bucks with his winning Mega Millions ticket in Washington's Lottery.

Koop, who has been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 47 years, plans to give much of his newfound riches to the organization for their work with diabetes causes.

He also said he intends to invest some of it, as well as take a trip to Alaska.

Koop had the computer pick his numbers at the Safeway store on Fifth Avenue in Yakima on Oct. 11. According to the Yakima-Herald Republic, he was so excited he drove to the Yakima office to claim his prize without telling anyone of his fortune.
