BREAKING NEWS: Yakima School District Closes In-Person Learning for 3 Area Schools Thursday and Friday
BREAKING NEWS out of YAKIMA, WA:
The Yakima School District just sent out notices to parents are three (3) area elementary schools that classes are closed for in-person learning on Thursday, January 13th and Friday, January 14th.
Some parents were alerted via an automated telephone call from the School District and others received a text message alert or an alert from the Yakima School District's mobile app.
No word was mentioned as to the cause of the in-school closures other than teachers and substitute teachers at certain elementary schools are apparently in short supply, given today's closure statement. Some parents have already suspected that their child's school teachers have been absent recently due to illnesses.
Students at these schools are being required to switch to remote learning for the closure days. All classes will still commence at their normally scheduled times (8:45 a.m.) and students will report to their homerooms via their individually respective Google classroom logins.
For more information, visit the Yakima School District website here or if your child goes to one of the following schools, please call their school for further instructions.
