Yakima Uncorked Wine, Brews & Food Festival Celebrates Its Fourth Year
In four short years, it's become a Yakima tradition -- and we say here's to tradition! Yes, it's time for the annual Yakima Uncorked Wine, Brews & Food Festival.
This year's event, presented by Washington Broadband Inc., runs from 5-10 p.m. Saturday (June 23) in the downtown Millennium Plaza, 22 S. Third St.
Yakima Uncorked toasts the Yakima Valley's prime hops, grapes and foods with a 21-and-older celebration steeped in local cuisine, music and culture.
While you enjoy the food and drinks, take in live music by four bands:
- Kings of Hollywood pays tribute to the Eagles by performing some of the band's iconic songs.
- Perfect By Tomorrow brings high-energy, melodic reggae sure to have you jumping to your feet to dance.
- Kenny Lee and the Sundowners play dance-inducing blues and Jimi Hendrix-influenced rock.
- And Odie Green brings together Yakima celebrities who enjoy playing music and energizing crowds with 1970s, '80s and '90s covers.
And to add a little extra sizzle, local food vendors will again take part in the beloved Bacon Cook Off.
Be sure to listen for Townsquare DJs Gunner Jackson and Reesha on the Radio, who'll keep the music flowing all night.
General admission is $20 in advance (available online) and includes a commemorative wine or beer cup -- plus 5 scrips for sampling. Tickets are $30 at the gate. The event is underwritten by Betterall Auto Sales, Home Street Bank, Yakima Valley Vintners, Wine Divas, and the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Yakima and the Tri-Cities.
