The Trolleys Are Back for the Summer Season

A few months ago, Yakima residents were afraid that the trolleys would be shut down forever if the City pulled their funding due to a deficit. Fortunately, after several meeting nights filled with hundreds of comments at city council public hearings, the funding was made available to keep this historic local treasure train a'running!

The Yakima Valley Trolley trains have has been a fixture on Yakima streets since 1907. There's currently an effort to save the train line that runs from the Museum's South 3rd Ave location through Selah. In the meantime, locals and tourists can hop on the train this summer going from the museum parking lot down to South 11th Ave.

"Present and future generations are able to experience an early-American street railway almost exactly as it was 100 years ago and come to understand the important role transit held in developing the City of Yakima as well as the rest of the industrialized world."

Yakima Trolleys Summer Schedule and Hours

Rides are available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays for $8 (kids and Seniors get a sweet discount and little ones 2 years and under get to ride the Trolley for free).
