‘Portland Retro Gaming Expo’ Breathes New Life to Old Video Games

If there's enough of a fanbase, there's a convention for it out there. Comic book fans have Comic Cons. Coffee lovers have Coffee Fest and just about anything else you can think of. There's even a 'Hello Kitty Con' in LA. Video games are no exception as they're a multi-billion dollar industry. Over the weekend, I attended the Portland Retro Gaming Expo in Portland Oregon. It's a great way to showcase the roots of video gaming from where it began to where it's going.

I can do it blindfolded, too -- it doesn't matter, so long as I can hear the music. Here's how I did it. You can try it for yourself to see if you can do it, too!

I have a huge passion for video games for several reasons that I'll get into. There have been huge advances, not just in the quality of games, but how they're looked at by everyone in a good way.

I'm very happy to say that today is Video Games Day.

The Game Boy is 25 Years Old! Riggs’ Favorite Game Boy Games

I got my very first Game Boy on my birthday after it was released. Since it was released on April 21st and my birthday is April 12th, I had to wait a full year before I got my hands on one, but, once I did, I never put it back down. I still have my Game Boy and several incarnations of it from Game Boy Pocket to Color to the later versions like the Game Boy Advance and even the Nintendo DS systems, but all show thanks to the original.

Here are some of my favorite Game Boy games that I still play today.
