Yakima Valley Restaurant Week so this week's Foodie Friday powered by Coca-Cola of Yakima and Tri-Cities was in full swing. Mom and I have made a list of places we'd like to try and JJ's Birrieria & Antojitos in Wapato was at the top. If you haven't heard of birria before this is the definition

a wonderful traditional Mexican dish, originally made with goat meat, but also made with beef, veal, lamb or pork. It can be served as a stew or as a taco filling. In gastronomic terms, the word birria means: “Exquisite savory dish, full of culture and tradition.”

It's been making the rounds in our Valley and personally second the fact that it truly is an exquisite dish. Double corn tortilla with cheese and juicy meat that you dip into consume. It's like a next-level taco when it comes to flavor and each spot makes them different so you know what that means, we're going to have to try them all!

So far, this is the third place I have ever eaten them and the best by far! It was the queso birrieria that Mom and I shared. Three of the cheesiest most delicious tacos I have ever tasted in my life! You know when you see those videos where they pull apart a taco and the cheese just keeps stretching? This is it! You could go viral making a video of these tacos, and if you do, please tag us!

Wapato is a small town and JJ's Birreria & Antojitos is on the main strip. Parking might be tight, we had to park around the corner but it wasn't a far walk at all. Dine-in is on and you're welcome to grab a table but don't you go moving chairs around, there's a sign that says so and there's also a gorgeous mural on the wall to enjoy while you munch.

Horchata is always a favorite but honestly, I am an orange Fanta fan, especially when it comes to tacos. Having something bubbly with a bit of spice hits the spot for me. The queso birrieria tacos are what we ordered which includes three of the most flavor-packed tacos, so filling that sharing isn't going to leave you feeling gypped.

I believe what made these yummier is the fact they used corn tortillas. They get dipped in a sauce, slapped on the grill, cheese is added and when melted they add another tortilla more cheese, meat, cilantro, and onions. OMG! The first bite is the sweetest experience all the way to the last. They are messy in the best way and leave you dreaming about the next time you show up! My mouth is watering as I write this and honestly I have probably thought about them AT LEAST once a day since partaking.

Don't walk run to JJ's Birreria & Antojitos because that's not all they offer on the menu they also have a birrieria pizza that I can't wait to try with friends!

Foodie Friday's is brought to you by Coca-Cola of Yakima and Tri-Cities, if you've got a spot you know I've got to try message me and I will add it to the list of delicious test tastings!
