Kids (and adults) today and their fancy axe throwing parties!

I must admit, I'm a little too afraid to go axe throwing. What if I accidentally axe somebody in the face, or worse, in their junk!

I have heard of the trending sport of axe throwing but I thought I'd never see it in Yakima. I was all game for it about a year ago when the pandemic started shutting everything down. I was looking for a way to release my pent up frustrations about coronavirus and the turmoil of the world we were living in at the time. I actually googled for axe throwing locations in the area but nothing turned up in the searches.

Here we are, a year or so later and enter Hop Capital Brewing beer bar/pub (2920 River Rd, Yakima), stage left. They are throwing (get it) a big axe party for ages 8 years old and up (with accompanying parent/guardian). It will cost about $25 a person and you can be on a team of anywhere from 4 to 8 people max.

If you are concerned about the safety of the event (like me and all other worrywarts out there), they will have certified Axe Safety Specialists on site. That's good to know!

You can throw axes to your heart's content for 30 minutes a set. An instructor will show everybody in your group how to throw the axe and keep it safe. This event will be socially distanced, and face masks are required to participate! If you want to reserve a spot right now, click here.
