Drake is already making, ahem, headlines, but he’s primed to get back into acting. While at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, the rapper revealed that he’s not only interested in making his way to the big screen, but he’s setting his sights on playing President Barack Obama one day.

“I’ve been reading scripts for a while,” he told VH1 of finding the right role. “I want to do something great. I want to do something for my culture: the younger people who are still in tune with everything going on. I’m actually writing with my friends right now.”

What exactly is that dream role? Playing the President, of course. “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” the 25-year-old added. “That’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

The Canadian rapper is no stranger to acting — he played the role of Jimmy Brooks on ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ for eight years. In 2010, he was cast as Jace Stratton in ‘Gears of War 3,’ but a scheduling conflict prevented him from shooting the film. Last year, Drake was reportedly negotiating a part in Nicholas Jarecki’s forthcoming movie ‘Arbitrage,’ but ultimately chose to focus on his album, ‘Take Care,’ instead.
