Eminem has remained relatively quiet in the past few months, but don’t worry, he’s busy in the studio plotting on his next album. The Detroit rhyme-slinger has confirmed to MTV News that he’s in the early stages of his new project.

“I’ve actually kinda just started. I’ve been on the move a little bit too, so I’ve in between things, sneak songs in here and there,” said Em during a radio interview with Shade 45 radio host Sway Calloway.

The ‘Lose Yourself’ artist is currently focused on getting his Shady recording artists Slaughterhouse off the ground with their debut album ‘Welcome to: Our House’ (due in stores on Aug. 28). “I feel like hip-hop needs this,” said Em of his motley crew of spitters Royce da 5’9″, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden and Crooked I.

As for Eminem’s solo album, recording music for the project is a long intricate process. After watching Dr. Dre craft his earlier albums, including his masterpiece ‘The Marshall Mathers LP,’ he knows what it takes to make a solid rap album. “All of Dre’s little tricks, I’ve stolen over the years,” he says. “It’s about making songs now, trying to take that next step.”

In the meantime, you can hear Eminem next on Pink‘s forthcoming ‘The Truth About Love‘ album on a song called ‘Here Comes the Weekend.’ The pop diva describes the tune as an “alternative club banger.” Pink will drop ‘The Truth About Love’ on Sept. 18.
