Frank Ocean disappointed the music world in 2015 when he didn't drop the followup to 2012's channel ORANGE but there is hope as Rich the Kid had the internet buzzing with a single tweet. The Atlanta native posted a Facetime screenshot of the two on his Twitter account along with the caption, "Me X Frank Ocean...smh."

The rapper later deleted the tweet but confirmed with HotNewHipHop that he is indeed getting in the studio with the elusive singer to work on music. "We recording new music today (Jan. 7). We are in L.A. I'm here working with Wiz [Khalifa] and I called him [Frank Ocean], he's in the studio."

The response from fans on Twitter was a mix of shock and excitement as people found it surprising that of all the artists Frank Ocean could get in touch with it would be Rich the Kid:

Despite not dropping a project in three years, Ocean has remained a buzzworthy artist. When he popped up in the studio with Hit-Boy and Rodney Jerkins and tease of his collab with Nas, “No Such Thing As Black Jesus,” surfaced, fans became eager to hear more. That was almost a year ago and he has only dropped two songs since then; “Memrise” and “You Are Luhh.” channel ORANGE was a huge success, winning the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. In April of last year, Ocean announced that he was dropping a new album and a magazine in July but neither materialized.
