Yakima Fire Chief Aaron Markham says he's retiring after nearly 35 years in the fire service, with the last eight years spent leading the Yakima Fire Department. Markham’s final day on the job will be June 30th.

Yakima City Manager Vicki Baker says Markham has served Yakima "extraordinarily well over more than three decades.” Baker says he's had a distinguished career in the fire service and demonstrated a deep understanding of how to administer a fire department.
