A new phone malware virus that has the fingerprints of the Riddler all over it. It's been dubbed "Joker," and it's infecting a number of apps and has spread all over the Google Play Store. The malware is designed to sign users up for subscriptions. Some of them can take months to bill before the user even knows they're subscribed.

It looks like the malware targets phones that use SIM cards, specifically in European and Asian countries, but have been spotted all over the world. "Joker" has been found in 24 different apps and installed over 472,000 times since it was first detected back in June.

It looks as though Google is on top of the issue, though -- all the affected apps in the Google Play store have been removed and security is continuously playing Batman in taking care of the malware. The following apps are known to be infected. Might want to take action!

If you feel you might have used one of the apps, keep an eye on your credit card statements and phone bills, just to make sure you have not been signed up for anything you didn't want. Always keep in mind of what you agree to and what permission you give when accepting a new app on your phone.
