Halley Greg wowed the audience and the coaches on the Voice last night and believe it or not, Halley has some ties to the Columbia Basin.

I'm a huge fan of The Voice and I'm loving season 20 and a lot of eagle-eyed viewers caught a glimpse of Halley Greg recognizing her as a former Tri-Cities native.

Greg's real name is Katie Krupin and she attended Kennewick High School and was Valedictorian of her class.

You can read more about her Tri-Cities roots here.

Under the stage name of "Halley Greg", Krupin wowed the coaches last night as she performed her stripped-down version of "I'm Like A Bird" from Nelly Furtado.

After a stellar performance, Greg had a quick chair turn from Kelly Clarkson and as they say, the rest is history.

Greg now lives in Seattle and works as a high school science teacher.

Greg said in a recent interview the reason for the pseudonym on her name was so that she could write sassy/suggestive songs and not lose her job as a teacher.

You can read more on the interview and article here.

Greg describes herself and her music as a love child between Katy Perry and Joan Jett.

Greg now joins Team Kelly on a quest to be the last artist standing on the Voice and she still has a way to go as she'll need to compete in the battle rounds and the live rounds but judging from her audition video, she's got a great voice and a lot of talent to make it happen.

Once we get into the voting rounds, remember Halley Greg and vote for her often so she can win the whole competition and lead Team Kelly to victory!
