If you speak to me in real life for more than a few moments, you'll find out I'm very passionate about old video games. It's still one of my favorite hobbies when I have the time but, growing up, playing video games with my friends is about all I ever did. When I saw kids today, who grew up with Xbox and iPads, see what the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was all about, I actually wasn't too shocked or surprised at their reaction. It gives hope.

It starts with them inspecting the device. A couple even call it a Game Boy, which is close.

They test them on a few classic video game titles like Super Mario Bros. and Metroid. Some have heard of them, but mostly because of their sequels that continue to be made today.

Then they try to get the game to start and seem to have some difficulty. The idea of popping the game in the system, then pressing down it such a weird feature. As one points out, in today's world, so many systems would've been returned without that instant gratification.

The video goes on to have them play a little Super Mario Bros. and explain a little history on how the video game industry was dwindling but, when the Nintendo came out, it breathed new life. If it weren't for Nintendo, there's no telling what the video game would be like today -- or if there even would be a video game industry today.

Fun to watch and hopefully it'll encourage kids today to do a little history to see where video games came from.
