In a post on their official Facebook page this morning (Sept. 1), Mickey's Pub at the Orion Cinema (202 East Chestnut Ave.) in downtown Yakima announced that they are reopen and ready to serve you!
I had the chance to talk to Mickey's manager Becky Pascua as to if and when the theater will be back up and running as well as what protocols the bar and restaurant will be observing as they get back to business.

As far as getting to go and watch a flick in their comfy leather chairs, that is still off the table for now. Pascua said that the theater cannot open back up until Yakima hits phase 3 of the governor's "Safe Start" plan. Bummer. Especially considering that others around the nation are getting to attend the movies, even if in a modified form.

For the bar and restaurant, however, things are beginning to get back to some normalcy. Becky told me that Mickey's Pub will be open 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for the lunchtime crowd and then again from 5:00 - 10 p.m. for the dinner crowd. They, too, can only seat up to 25% of their normal capacity indoors and up to 50% on their patio. No bellying up to the bar, however. That is prohibited for social distancing reasons. Of course, if you plan to visit, you are required to wear a facemask and employees are also having their temperatures taken at the start of each shift.

While it's not the best scenario, it is still better than what we've had (or haven't had!) the last 5 months. I suggest taking a look at their fantastic menu and consider stopping by and supporting a local business!

Here's a look back at some great Bike Night's we've had at Mickey's!
