Let’s Go Crazy: Unreleased Prince Tracks, Greatest-Hits LP Coming
Five months after the tragic death of the iconic Prince, Billboard has reported that a greatest-hits album called Prince 4Ever and a Purple Rain deluxe edition that includes an album's worth of previously unreleased tracks are both in production. Warner Bros' NPG Records, which managed the first half of Prince's career, will handle the release.
The 40-track Prince 4Ever, which will include hits like "1999," "When Doves Cry" and "U Got the Look," is due out on November 22. It'll also include the previously unreleased "Moonbeam Levels," which was recorded in 1982 and has so far only available on bootlegs, and a 12-page booklet with never-before-seen photos by Herb Ritts.
The Purple Rain remastered redux, meanwhile, is set for a 2017 release and will include a handful of unreleased tracks that Billboard reports Prince agreed to eventually release before his death.
Prince died on April 21 from what was originally deemed an opioid overdose. In August, police reported the singer was taking counterfeit drugs that were stronger than he may have realized.
