For those anxiously awaiting the debut of Prince's Paisley Park Museum this week, you might have to sit tight. According to Billboard, the public opening for his Minneapolis estate and studio complex that was slated for this week, may be delayed. The reasoning behind the madness? The city council hasn't approved a rezoning request.

This past Monday night (Oct. 3) after three hours of deliberation, the Chanhassen City Council decided that they needed more time to make a decision pertaining to opening Paisley Park as a museum.

The council members will have to pick up the tempo considering that official tours for the museum were scheduled for Oct. 6. It's still unclear as to whether they'll be able to make a decision before then.

Council member, Bethany Tjornhom said that the community needs additional time to decide whether they will be prepared to host potentially 600,000 people a year. Also, they are trying to figure out  if they want their city to morph into a "tourist town."

“I think we have one chance to get this right,” Tjornhom said to the Star Tribune.

Fans began receiving notices about the delays as early as this morning and The Chanhassen Villager revealed that the council has up until Dec. 23 to handle the rezoning request. If they fail to do so, the request will be carried out.
